Me: Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a proud northern British Columbia resident for the past 17 years and currently live in Prince George, BC. I’ve been blogging since 2005, on Facebook since 2007, and on Twitter since 2010.
Experience: I’m a communications professional with over six years of experience in a variety of roles, including marketing, social media marketing, strategic planning, media relations, project management and web management. Find more info about my portfolio and past clients.
Education: In October 2012, I graduated from Royal Roads University with an MA in Professional Communications. The focus of my major research paper was best practices of social media in health care. I also hold a BA in English from the University of Northern BC (2005). I believe in professional development and currently serve as President for the Northern Lights chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). I’m always trying to expand my knowledge base through reading and self-learning.
Personal: I love writing, eating, traveling and exploring the outdoors. And I’m a bit of an internet geek ;). Besides writing about social media on this site, I blog about my neck of the woods for a variety of organizations, including Destination BC (formerly Tourism BC) and Tourism Prince George – you can find a round up of these posts on my Live Love North blog. When my baby girl was born in 2015, I was inspired to tap into my more artsy creative side, and I also started working on a baby and kids’ apparel line, featuring my own designs that are inspired by the outdoors – this also lives on my Live Love North website.
