May long weekend finally brought me what I’d been waiting a very long winter for: a great camping trip. We went to a lake only about 60 km north of Prince George, a place my husband has named “Secret Lake.” There’s one camping spot on the lake (true roughing it: no picnic table or outhouse), and arriving at 4pm on Friday, we happily found it empty. While we did hear a few vehicles drive by on the forest service road during the few days we were out there, not one other person tried to claim the spot.
There’s nothing like being out in the woods, with no noise other than the loons, squirrels and campfire to regenerate your spirit. Do you have a special, “secret” spot that helps to make you whole again?
